UN HABITAT & LAY VILLAGE

UN Habitat Korea Committee X Ray Village

The collaboration between the UN Habitat Korea Committee and Ray Village has resulted in two projects, "Dream Tree Meta School" and "Public City," which seek to address the question of how to create a foundation for the inclusive participation of youth, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities in the process of determining, shaping, and nurturing the city's appearance, a process often marginalized in urban planning decision-making.

Inspired by the effort to create a "city where no one is excluded," Korean artists are showcasing their works, each expressing their unique style across various genres.

The exhibited artworks are issued as NFTs, facilitating donations that contribute to the practical realization of the exhibition's theme.

Profits generated from NFT purchases will be used for youth education programs, improving the living environments of vulnerable populations, establishing the foundation for "Smart-Green City Infrastructure," forming urban governance, and activating local community development projects.
I was deeply moved by the "Dream Tree Meta School" project for youth, and I incorporated the energy I felt from the activities of the UN Habitat Korea Committee and the youth into my artwork.

In a rapidly changing world, the fresh perspective that young people possess will become the future. Their energy and potential, experienced through VR devices, might lead to the birth of new ways of thinking and new environments that didn't previously exist.

I aimed to capture their perspective in the artwork by portraying another world created alongside the youth, transcending the boundaries of Extended Reality (XR) into a new spacetime.
